Short answer: Kratom wholesale MOQs are set by each supplier and product format, not by an industry standard. Starting minimums on the supplier pages we reviewed run from 1 kg to 25 kg. Price per kg falls at volume breaks and moves with testing, packaging, Incoterms and freight. Lead time stacks production, export notice and transit.
This guide explains how minimums are set, what moves bulk kratom price per kilogram, and how to plan lead time from Thailand. Figures come from linked supplier, forwarder and regulator pages and are reference points, not quotes.
What is a kratom wholesale MOQ, and why do suppliers set one?
A minimum order quantity (MOQ) is the smallest lot a supplier will process and ship on its standard terms. One Indonesian exporter calls it “the smallest amount a supplier will pack, test and export as one commercial lot”, noting that harvesting, milling, lab testing and export paperwork carry fixed costs that only make sense above a certain volume (Kratom Seller Indonesia). Small lots therefore cost more per kilogram.
What MOQs do kratom wholesale suppliers publish?
Published minimums on the supplier pages we reviewed on 15 October 2026 include:
- 1 kg starting MOQ, with per-kg price steps at 11 kg, 50 kg and 100 kg (Kratom Seller Indonesia).
- 10 kg for wholesale orders, scaling up to full containers of approximately 27 metric tons (Nusa Botanicals).
- 25 kg per shipment, with larger tiers at 100 kg, 500 kg and multi-ton containers; the same page says a 20ft container typically holds about 13 metric tons of bulk powder (Ranah Botanical).
All three are Indonesian-origin exporters that list kratom powder. Several Thai supplier pages we reviewed describe MOQs as flexible or quote-based instead of publishing a number, so treat the list as a market reference, not a Thai benchmark.
How does MOQ change by product format?
| Format | How minimums are usually set | Thai export consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Whole or crushed dried leaf | Per lot and variant. Bulky cargo can bill on volume, not scale weight, raising air cost per kg (Maersk). | The ONCB leaf definition covers fresh or dried, unprocessed leaves (Tilleke & Gibbins); confirm how crushed cut is declared. |
| Powder | Per variant; often the lowest published trial minimums. | Confirm how your exporter’s ONCB licence treats milled leaf. |
| Extract | None of the three supplier pages above publishes an extract minimum; ask each supplier. | Outside the leaf definition, which excludes extracts and concentrates (Tilleke & Gibbins). |
| Private label or finished packs | Per SKU or per packaging run. | Finished supplements follow a separate Thai FDA track (DeeMED). |
What factors drive bulk kratom price per kg?
Two quotes for the same vein and format can differ because they price different things:
| Pricing factor | Why it moves price per kg | What to ask the supplier |
|---|---|---|
| Order volume | Fixed lot costs spread over more kilograms; one supplier ties pricing to quantity, product type, packaging and recurring orders (Nusa Botanicals). | Prices at trial and reorder volumes. |
| Tested alkaloid content | A quote tied to a tested mitragynine specification prices that specification. One manufacturer says mitragynine level depends on tree age, growing environment and leaf maturity, and verifies every batch by independent lab testing (Ranah Botanical). | A lot-specific COA with the test method and lab name. |
| Testing scope | Each panel adds lab cost; one manufacturer’s COA covers mitragynine, 7-hydroxymitragynine, heavy metals, microbiology and moisture (Ranah Botanical). | Which parameters, which lab, and who pays for retests. |
| Processing and packaging | Mesh, sieving and pack size change labour and materials; standard packaging lowers landed cost (Kratom Seller Indonesia). | Mesh, moisture and pack spec. |
| Incoterms | The 11 Incoterms 2020 rules set who pays for and manages shipment, insurance, documentation and customs clearance (ITA). | A named rule and place, such as FOB Laem Chabang. |
| Freight mode and chargeable weight | Air bills on the higher of actual or volumetric weight, usually L x W x H in cm divided by 6,000, though some carriers use 5,000 (Maersk). | Packed carton dimensions and gross weight. |
| Compliance overhead | Thai leaf exports need an ONCB licence, a per-shipment notification and a phytosanitary certificate (DeeMED). AKA GMP Qualified vendors must pass an annual independent third-party audit (AKA). | Licence holder name and documents included. |
Payment terms matter too: one manufacturer lists 50/50 wire transfer, or letters of credit at sight for established buyers (Ranah Botanical).
How do you compare kratom quotes on landed cost?
Compare offers on landed cost rather than headline price: add freight, insurance, duties and broker fees, then divide by the kilograms delivered to your door (Kratom Seller Indonesia). One forwarder’s Thailand to USA lane guide puts standard air cargo from Bangkok at USD 4 to 9 per chargeable kilogram (Platton); confirm your forwarder accepts botanical cargo and quote on real packed dimensions.
The same guide reports that US tariffs on Thai-origin imports changed three times between February and July 2026 (Platton), so get current duty rates from your customs broker before comparing.
US buyers should also price regulatory risk. FDA Import Alert 54-15 lets FDA districts detain, without physical examination, kratom dietary supplements and bulk dietary ingredients from firms on its red list, and refer other suspected shipments for review (FDA). A detained entry adds cost and time no quote covers. Federal scheduling of concentrated 7-OH is also moving; see our DEA 7-OH notice summary and kratom legal status in Thailand guide.
What determines kratom wholesale lead time?
Lead time is a stack of stages, not one number:
| Stage | Published reference point | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Sampling and lot approval | Courier plus your lab’s turnaround. | Buyer-dependent |
| Production, packing and COA | Not published on the supplier pages we reviewed; ask for it in the quote. | Supplier-dependent |
| ONCB shipment notification | Filed at least seven business days before export; the receipt code follows within three business days. | Tilleke & Gibbins |
| Phytosanitary certificate | Issued by Thailand’s Department of Agriculture through ePhyto, alongside ONCB documents. | DeeMED |
| Sea freight, Laem Chabang to Los Angeles | 19 to 24 days direct, 24 to 30 days via Singapore; LCL adds 5 to 7 days. | Platton |
| Air freight, Bangkok to the US | 6 to 10 days from pickup to delivery on standard service. | Platton |
| Import clearance | Varies by country; US kratom entries can face FDA detention. | FDA |
Calendar matters: Songkran (13 to 15 April) puts Thai factories, customs and ports on reduced staffing for five to seven working days, and the ocean peak runs June through October (Platton). Ask suppliers about drying and processing capacity for your order months. Our kratom export documents and permits guide explains each document.
How can buyers reduce MOQ pressure and shorten lead times?
- Mix variants in one shipment to reach a higher price tier without overstocking one SKU (Kratom Seller Indonesia).
- Share a rolling forecast. The exporter’s ONCB export plan covers one year at a time (DeeMED).
- File the ONCB notification during production so the seven business days do not land at the end.
- Trial by air, reorder by sea once the specification is approved.
- Approve draft documents early so quantities and lot numbers match across invoice, packing list and COA.

What should you send to get an accurate wholesale quote?
Kratom Thai Exports does not publish a fixed MOQ, price list or lead time, because each depends on format, specification, volume, destination and season. Request a quote for current MOQ and lead times, and include:
- Format (whole leaf, crushed leaf or powder) and vein classification.
- Trial and expected reorder volume.
- COA parameters and packaging spec.
- Destination, preferred Incoterm and target delivery date.

Frequently asked questions
What is a typical kratom wholesale MOQ?
There is no standard figure. Starting minimums on the supplier pages we reviewed in October 2026 ranged from 1 kg to 25 kg, with larger tiers up to full containers. Minimums differ by format, variant and destination, so request a quote for current MOQ and lead times.
How long does a wholesale kratom order from Thailand take?
Add the stages: sampling, production and lot testing, the ONCB shipment notification of at least seven business days, then freight. Sea transit from Laem Chabang to Los Angeles runs about 19 to 24 days on direct services, and standard air about 6 to 10 days. Import clearance comes on top.
Should a first kratom order go by air or sea?
Air suits trial lots: it is faster, but it bills on the greater of actual or volumetric weight. Sea suits larger repeat volumes, using LCL for part loads and FCL for full containers. One practical approach is to trial by air, approve the lot, then move reorders to sea once demand is predictable.
Does mitragynine content matter in a bulk kratom quote?
Treat it as part of the specification you are pricing. One manufacturer says mitragynine level depends on tree age, growing environment and leaf maturity, and tests every batch at an independent laboratory. Ask for a lot-specific COA, including the lab name and test method, so quotes are compared on the same specification.
Does Kratom Thai Exports have a fixed MOQ or price list?
No. MOQ, price and lead time depend on format, specification, testing, packaging, volume and destination, and they change with harvest and freight conditions. Send those details through our contact page and request a quote for current MOQ and lead times. We work with business buyers only.
