Glassware on a laboratory bench

Quality and CoAs

Third-party testing when you ask for it. A certificate that matches the lot.

Certificates of analysis are available on request. The panel is whatever the quote says it is. We do not claim that every lot is tested for heavy metals, microorganisms, or anything else.

Glassware on a laboratory bench.

If a test is not written into the order, do not assume it was run. Heavy metals and microorganisms are included only when they are part of the agreed panel and printed on the certificate.

Specification in writing

Every order names format, vein grade, mesh where relevant, mitragynine basis, moisture and packaging. Extract orders also name freebase or saltbase, or liquid, and the strength target.

Third-party laboratories

Testing can be arranged at a third-party laboratory for the panel you specify. We do not publish laboratory names. Ask which laboratory will sign a given lot if you need that for your own records.

CoAs on request

A lot-specific certificate of analysis is available on request when testing has been agreed. The certificate should carry the lot number you will see on the invoice and the packs.

Your own retest

Independent retesting at a laboratory you choose is welcome, on the sample or on the production lot. We will not argue with a buyer who wants a second result.

What a panel can cover

These are examples of analytes buyers ask about. They are not a statement that any of them is run on every lot.

  • Mitragynine, on an agreed basis, for kratom leaf, powder and extracts
  • Kavalactones for a kava lot, or purity and concentration for a cannabinoid lot
  • Moisture, where the specification calls for it
  • Other analytes, including heavy metals or microorganisms, only if you ask for them in the quote and they appear on the certificate

What we will not claim

  • That every lot is tested for heavy metals or microorganisms
  • That a vein colour predicts anything about the leaf
  • Health, medical, or structure-function claims
  • The names of farms, processors or laboratories
  • A public price, or a public menu of extract percentages

Keeping the lot identifiable

  1. 01

    Offer

The quote names the format and the tests, if any, that will be purchased with the lot.

  2. 02

    Sample

A paid sample, if you take one, is the reference you approve. It is not a certificate for the later production lot unless the paperwork says so.

  3. 03

    Production lot

The production lot receives its own identifier. Packaging, invoice and packing list use that identifier.

  4. 04

    Certificate

If a certificate is issued, its lot number should match. If it does not, tell us before the freight is booked.

Mitragynine percentage is only as clear as its basis

Buyers ask for MIT % because it is the figure that makes two kratom offers look comparable. It only works when both offers say what was measured, on what basis, and on which lot. As-is and dry basis are different statements. Freebase and saltbase are different statements again. A quote that says “high MIT” without a number, a method and a basis is not a specification.

We will put the target and the basis in the written confirmation when you have one. The result, if you buy a certificate, should use the same words. How to read that paperwork without treating it as a medical document is set out in Understanding MIT % and CoAs. The freebase and saltbase distinction is in its own guide.

A certificate covers the panel you bought

A certificate of analysis is a laboratory report for a named lot and a named list of analytes. It is available on request. It is not an automatic attachment to every shipment, and it is not evidence about analytes that were never requested. Heavy metals and microorganisms are included only when they are part of the agreed panel and printed on the certificate.

Match three things before you book freight or accept it: the lot number on the certificate, the lot number on the invoice and packing list, and the lot number on the bags or containers. If they diverge, the certificate is not describing the goods in front of you. Independent retesting at a laboratory you choose is welcome. We will not argue with a buyer who wants a second result.

We do not publish laboratory names. If your file needs the laboratory identified, ask which laboratory will sign that lot. Specification control still includes format, vein grade, mesh, mitragynine basis, moisture and packaging, whether or not a certificate is purchased.

What quality language on this site refuses to say

We do not say that every lot is tested. We do not say that a vein colour predicts the leaf. We do not say that a finer mesh is a higher mitragynine result. We do not make health or medical claims, and we do not describe this 2024 company as the processor. The useful question is whether the lot you are buying matches the specification you confirmed.

Kava kavalactones and cannabinoid purity follow the same discipline: a lot result, a named basis, a certificate only when one was bought. Partner capacity, including extraction scale and warehousing, is described on About. It is not a quality certificate.
