Understanding MIT % and CoAs

MIT % is a lot result with a basis. A certificate covers the analytes you asked for. Neither document is a health claim.

A mitragynine percentage is a measurement, not a grade name

Buyers use MIT % because it looks like a way to compare wholesale kratom. It works only when both sides say what was measured, on what basis, and on which lot. Mitragynine is an alkaloid. The percentage on a quote or a certificate is the result of a method applied to a sample of a named lot. It is not a property of a vein colour, and it is not a property of a mesh size. Green, red and white are trade descriptions of leaf. They are not a prediction of the number.

As-is and dry basis are different statements. A result reported on material that still holds moisture is not the same figure as a result adjusted to a dry basis. Freebase and saltbase are different statements again, which is why extract buyers should read the freebase and saltbase guide before they rank two powders. If a seller converts one basis into the other, the conversion belongs in the written specification.

We can agree a target before production. The result that ships is the lot result. Leaf varies with harvest and process. A target is not a guarantee that every future lot will print the same number to the decimal. Say what variance you can accept, or say that you want each lot held until you have seen the result.

What a certificate of analysis actually covers

A certificate of analysis is a laboratory report for one lot and one list of analytes. It is available on request. It is not an automatic page in every shipment. Ordering kratom does not, by itself, buy a heavy-metal panel or a microorganism panel. Those lines appear when they are in the quote and on the certificate. We do not claim that every lot is tested for heavy metals or microorganisms. If a page on the wider internet says that we do, this page is the correction.

Read the certificate for four things. The lot number. The method, or enough of a method description that your quality file can file it. The basis of any mitragynine result. The analytes that were actually run, and only those. A certificate that is silent on an analyte is not a pass for that analyte. It is silence. Do not fill the silence with an assumption.

We do not publish laboratory names. If your file needs the laboratory identified, ask which laboratory will sign that lot and what the paperwork will show. Specification control still includes format, vein grade, mesh, mitragynine basis, moisture and packaging, whether or not you buy a certificate. The quality page states the same limit in shorter form: Quality and CoAs.

Match the lot, then decide

Before freight is booked, three identifiers should agree: the lot on the certificate, the lot on the invoice and packing list, and the lot on the bags or containers. If they do not agree, the certificate is describing something other than the goods in front of you. Tell us. Do not average the documents in your head and ship anyway.

Independent retesting at a laboratory you choose is welcome. Send the sample under your own chain of custody if that is what your file requires. We will not argue with a second result. If the two results differ, the useful next step is to compare method and basis, not to pick the number that is easier to sell. A certificate is not a health document and it is not labelling copy. It does not authorise a claim about the body.

Powder buyers should keep mesh out of this conversation except as a physical specification. Finer powder is not a higher mitragynine result. The alkaloid figure is measured. The mesh is a screen. Both can be on the same lot, and neither substitutes for the other. The mesh note is Kratom powder mesh sizes explained.

How to ask for the result you can file

In the enquiry, write the target, the basis, and the panel. Example of the shape, not a template you must copy: mitragynine on a named basis, plus whichever contaminants you actually need, on the lot that will be invoiced. Ask for the certificate to use the same words as the purchase confirmation. Ask for the lot number to be printed where you can match it to the packing list.

Then keep the commercial path ordinary. Paid sample if you want one, plus shipping. Written confirmation. 100% payment upfront by bank transfer. Production. Export documents, including the ONCB notice of at least seven business days for kratom leaving Thailand. Your broker on arrival. The ordering page has the stack. The extract page is where freebase, saltbase and liquid are listed as formats rather than as claims.
